Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The Covid Pandemic has produced a tremendous strain on the healthcare workforce. Burnout was already a problem, now it is considerably worse. Recognizing this, the Department of Health and Human Services recently announced new funding to “help health care organizations establish a culture of wellness” and “build resiliency.” What might such a culture look like?

A large body of research shows that when people work together with a high degree of relational coordination – that is, when they acknowledge their mutual connections, are united around a shared purpose, understand each other’s roles, treat one another with mutual respect, and communicate well – then they experience a higher level of well-being, satisfaction, resilience and capacity for innovation. And at the same time they get better outcomes, their efficiency increases, and their customers/patients are more satisfied. A culture of wellness and a culture of high performance are one and the same, and it’s all based on relational quality. But how can such a culture be encouraged?

We invite you to join us for a virtual workshop we’re offering, Advanced Methods for Improving Relational Coordination: A Toolkit for Leaders and Facilitators. Over the course of three 4-hour sessions via Zoom on consecutive days, we will explore the kinds of conversations we can and must have with one another to build the relationships, shared purpose, system view, communication practices and structural supports that are essential for healthy workplaces and successful collaboration.

The course is intended for leaders and managers as well as internal/external process improvement and organizational development consultants, researchers, and most anyone who is interested in improving organizational performance.

We’ll be conducting the workshop on September 22nd, 23rd, and 24th from 1:00-5:00 pm EDT, 10:00 am-2:00 pm PDT. Discounts are available for multiple participants from the same organization and for partners of the Relational Coordination Collaborative. Click here for more information and online registration. Please feel free to contact one of us if you have any questions.

We hope you’ll join us!
